TOOL 02 · OBSERVATIONS, NOT ASSUMPTIONS
How fast is your factory, really?
Time a stable sample, enter the amount processed and estimate the remaining work. This predicts hay processing, not needle discovery.
YOUR RESULT
Start with a measured sample.
The result will show a per-minute rate and an estimated time for the remaining hay.
What the calculation means
Rate per minute = amount processed ÷ sample seconds × 60
Processing time = remaining hay ÷ amount processed × sample seconds
Processing time = remaining hay ÷ amount processed × sample seconds
These equations assume a stable processing rate and no new input added to the remaining quantity. Stops, changed upgrades and bottlenecks can make the estimate inaccurate. Repeat the sample after a meaningful factory change.
Use hay units consistently. Do not mix a count of finished bales with a count of raw strands unless you have independently established the conversion. The tool cannot infer that conversion.
Not a completion timer. Emptying the measured material is not proof that every needle was found or that an ending condition was satisfied.
