The Steam feature list says single-player. Co-op is available through a separate community mod; it is not the same as native multiplayer support.
Two different answers to “is it multiplayer?”
Use the official feature list to describe the unmodified game. User-applied Steam tags are not a reliable substitute for the developer’s feature declaration.
AleDev11 publishes a separate Find The Needle Co-op Multiplayer mod. The author page reviewed for this guide displayed version 0.19.0 and an update dated 29 September 2026. Always check that page again before installing; this is a dated observation, not a live version feed.
Before you install
Follow the current mod author’s instructions rather than an old copied archive. This site does not host the mod or promise its safety or compatibility.
- Back up the host’s confirmed save data while the game is closed.
- Check that every player has the game build and mod version required by the author.
- Download only through the author’s linked distribution page and read the current installation steps.
- Use a small test session before trusting a long-running factory to a newly updated mod.
- When reporting a problem, include both the game build and mod version; “latest” stops being useful after the next update.
What the author says about the shared world
The author describes Steam-relay connections and invitations through Steam friends. Money is shared, purchased tools are per player, and the host handles the save. The page also says the leaderboard is disabled while the mod is loaded.
These are claims from the mod author, not independently benchmarked guarantees. They are useful when deciding who should host and whose files need a backup.
When joining or synchronization fails
Our suggested first check is a version comparison, followed by the mod author’s current troubleshooting notes. Do not disable operating-system security or install a random DLL suggested by an unrelated download page.
Try to reproduce the issue in a short test world after protecting your existing save. Distinguish connection failure, a mismatched machine display and lost world progress in your report; they are not necessarily the same bug.

Does the wiki offer a co-op download?
No. The download link goes directly to AleDev11’s Nexus Mods page. We do not mirror or modify the author’s files.
Does every player save the shared factory?
The mod author says only the host saves the shared world. Do not rely on a client installation as a backup.
